A total of 2,328 students (934 females), or 1.69 percent of the 137,412 registered candidates (73,278 females) were absent, the source pointed out, adding that 85 candidates had health problems, of them 5 could not continue the exam.

The Anti-Corruption Unit had deployed 3,040 leaders, officials and observers to observe the exam process.

In general, the 2023 high school exam was conducted in accordance with the principles of law and in a fair and transparent manner with acceptable results, the press release stressed.

As planned, the results will be announced at the examination centres in Phnom Penh and Kandal province in the afternoon of Nov. 27, and on Nov. 28 for the examination centres in other provinces, as well via the official social media of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.

The exam is a prerequisite for high school graduates to pursue their studies at the university level.

Last year, 90,950, or 72.33 percent of the total 125,735 candidates got their baccalaureate.
