15 Students Off to Singapore for 5-Day Twinning Programme (BruDirect (Brunei))
Fifteen students from Sultan Sharif Ali Secondary School yesterday departed for a five-day twinning programme with Victoria School, Singapore. The programme is the second cycle for both schools since it was inaugurated in 2013.
A send-off ceremony was held yesterday at the Brunei International Airport prior to their departure. The five male and 10 female students from Year 7, Year 9 and Year 10 are accompanied by three supervising teachers. Leading the delegation is teacher Rosnani binti Haji Mohd Bakir.
The programme aims to broaden the minds of students, foster close relationship between the two schools by sharing ideas and experiences that would benefit both schools and implement the best practices that are available and relevant to both schools.
The twinning programme would assist the students in learning new surroundings, help them gain knowledge through such experiences, provide them with opportunities to interact and forge relationship with their counterparts in Singapore.
The programme would give the participating teachers an opportunity to learn new ways of teaching and classroom management, to assess how Singapore schools – have implemented information technology in teaching and look at how far these can be implemented at their schools.
