50 years of S'pore independence celebrated in city (The Financial Express (Bangladesh))
The High Commission of Singapore in Bangladesh celebrated 50 years of Singapore with a vision to enhance further bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Singapore in the coming days.
The high commission celebrated the day through a colourful programme in a city hotel on Sunday. The programme started with the national anthem of Singapore.
Consular General of Singapore Darry I Lau Kai Mun welcomed the guests at the programme. The programme was attended by Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon, Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzam Noor, BNP leader Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan, former adviser to caretaker government Rokia Afzal Rahman, Debate for Democracy Chairperson Hassan Ahmed Chowdhury Kiron and American Ambassador Marcia Bernicat, British High Commissioner Robert W Gibson and Malaysian High Comm-issioner Norlin Othman apart from other diplomats working in Bangladesh.
In his welcome address the Singapore Consular General expressed his hope to strengthen bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Singapore.
Chairperson of Debate for Democracy Hassan Ahmed Chowdhury Kiron exchanged greetings and handed over a crest and a bouquet to the Singapore Consular General.
