ANGOLA, SINGAPORE SIGN BILATERAL AIR SERVICES AGREEMENT
LUANDA, Angola and Singapore have signed a bilateral air services agreement to facilitate the exchange of air transportation services between the two countries.
A statement from the Ministry of Transport here Thursday said the agreement was signed in Singapore by Angola’s Minister of Transport, Augusto da Silva Tomas, and his Singapore counterpart, Ng Chee Meng.
Under the agreement, the Angolan national airliner, TAAG, and Singapore Airlines will have the right to operate on any of the agreed routes, initially with up to four flights a week, with the perspective of an increase to seven flights a week in 2023.
The statement quoted Augusto Tomas as saying that the agreement represented a new phase in the co-operation between the two countries.
It (Singapore) is a country with a considerable level of development and we can seize the opportunity to train Angolan personnel, while it is also an opportunity for achieving better (airline) inter-connection of the various modalities.”
