ASEAN Para Games 2023: Cambodia Committed to Defend Gold Medal in Men’s Sitting Volleyball

Cambodian men’s sitting volleyball athletes have been optimistic to defend their gold medal at the 12th Para Games to be hosted by the Kingdom from June 3 to 9, 2023.

Mr. Ou Phalla, captain of the Cambodian sitting volleyball team, said that the team has been training hard and determined to defend their gold medal.

Another athlete, Mr. Nhonh Sok stressed that teamwork is a key to their success, and he is proud of participating in the 12th ASEAN Para Games.

For his part, coach Yim Vanda raised the difficulty in training as the athletes are not familiar with standard pitch, they get used to regular pitch.

He took the opportunity to thank the Royal Government for its attention and support to sport activities of athletes with disabilities.

The Cambodian men’s volleyball team won a gold medal at the 11th Para Games in Solo, Indonesia in 2022.

The 12th ASEAN Para Games will be officially opened on June 3, 2023 under the presidency of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and his spouse.

More than 2,600 sports delegates and athletes including some 1,400 athletes from 11 participating countries will join the games to take place at Morodok Techo National Stadium, National Olympic Stadium and other courts in Phnom Penh capital.
