Pedestrian killed after being struck by a car in Dublin

DUBLIN, Ireland – A male pedestrian was killed after being struck by a car in Finglas, Co Dublin.

Gardai are said to be investigating the case that took place inbound on the N2 dual carriageway.

Gardai said that the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown.

Gardai have not been able to establish the identity of the victim so far and the driver of the car reportedly was a 50-year-old man who did not sustain any injuries.

Gardai have partially closed the road to facilitate a Garda forensic examination of the scene. Loca diversions have been put in place.
