Cambodia Determined to Ensure Food Security

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has reaffirmed Cambodia’s determination to ensure food security in the country.

In his address to the closing ceremony of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries’ annual meeting, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said Cambodia used to face food shortage in the past, but now it has food surplus, ensuring the national food security.

“The world now is fragile […], but no matter what happens in the world, we need to ensure food security in our country,” he stressed.

At the same time, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed his full support to the outcome of Cambodian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI) that has been researching and developing high-yielding and climate-resilient varieties of rice to ensure food security.
