Close to 5,000 sign up for Cebu Marathon

AROUND 5,000 runners are already enlisted in the 11th Cebu Marathon, which is set on Jan. 14 next year at the Cebu Business Park.

Kenneth Casquejo, president of the Cebu Executive Runners’ Club (CERC), the group behind the run, said they had 4,997 registered runners as of yesterday.

The 42-kilometer and the 21K categories were already closed with 1,950 and 2,200 participants.

The 10K and 5K categories are still open. The 10K has 480 registrants and 367 have signed up for the 5K.

The race has attracted not just local runners, but also those from several countries and territories, including Australia, Belgium, Brunei, Canada, Switzerland, China, Germany, Denmark, France, United Kingdom, Indonesia, India, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Singapore and USA.
