JOHOR BARU: China-based Country Garden Group will be giving vacant possession of its first 4,000 units starting from next month. The remaining units totalling 4,500 will be handed over by the end of 2018.

“We have recorded about RM6.5bil in sales turnover since the launch of the project in 2013,’’ he said in a press conference here yesterday.

The multi-billion ringgit waterfront development project Country Garden Danga Bay is located in Iskandar Malaysia, in Johor.

Zhao said that buyers from mainland China, Malaysia and Singapore made up about a third each while the remaining 10% were from India, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea and European countries.

Country Garden Danga Bay is the company’s first project outside China the state-owned company had undertaken on its own.

The project is developed via unit Country Garden Danga Bay Sdn Bhd. It has other projects in the country after having accumulated massive land bank, mostly seafront ones, in the country since early 2013. Most of its land are located in Johor.

“Our proven track record in delivering the units (on time) will further strengthen the confidence of our buyers,’’ he said.

Zhao said the project which was strategically located along Jalan Skudai offered spectacular and panoramic views of the Straits of Johor and Singapore’s city skyline.

He said Johor Baru’s close proximity with Singapore was an added advantage, as home owners would have the best of both worlds just a few kilometres away.

Danga Bay is part of the ambitious multi-billion-ringgit Iskandar Malaysia project aimed at transforming south Johor into an international metropolis by 2025.
