Defence Minister Ng to Speak at Munich Security Conference and Officiate at Submarine Launch Ceremony
Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen will be in Germany from 15 to 18 February 2019 .
On 16 February 2019, he will attend the 55th Munich Security Conference (MSC) in Munich, where he will speak at the Maritime Roundtable on the topic “Bridging Troubled Waters Deconflicting the South China Sea Disputes.” Dr Ng will also speak at the 11th Munich Young Leaders Roundtable on 16 February. He will also have bilateral meetings with his foreign counterparts in Munich.
Conducted annually in Germany since 1963, the MSC is a high-level security conference that brings together key foreign affairs and defence leaders from around the world. This will be the eighth time that Dr Ng is attending the MSC.
After attending the 55th MSC, Dr Ng will officiate at the launch ceremony of the Republic of Singapore Navy’s first Type 218SG submarine in Kiel on 18 February 2019.
