The Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement that Teo and Wiranto reaffirmed the close and longstanding bilateral relationship between Singapore and Indonesia, and renewed their personal ties and friendship over two decades.

Their ties date back to when both men were in the military. Teo was Navy chief and Wiranto, commander of Indonesia’s armed forces.

They discussed means of strengthening bilateral cooperation, including in the areas of defense, counter-terrorism and cybersecurity, the statement added.

Wiranto was in Singapore to attend the inaugural Singapore International Cyber Week (SICW). He was hosted to breakfast by Defense Minister Ng Eng Hen, and met Communications and Information Minister Yaacob Ibrahim.
