The police have arrested five women and two men, aged between 20 and 50, for immigration, employment and drug-related offences in an enforcement operation conducted against public entertainment outlets on 7 March 2018.
During the operation, officers from Central Police Division conducted a series of enforcement checks on public entertainment outlets located along Jalan Sultan, North Bridge Road and Kampong Bahru Road. The public entertainment outlet licensees were found to be employing foreigners without Work Permit an offence under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act. Actions will also be taken against these licensees for contravening licensing conditions. Investigations are on-going.
The police will continue to take tough enforcement action against those who are involved in such illegal activities and they will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
