Fog disrupts flight operations in Dhaka airport

Flight operations were disrupted for at least five hours at Shahjalal International Airport, Dhaka on Thursday due to dense fog.

Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh said flight operations was suspended from 5am.

An US-Bangla airlines flight from Singapore was routed to Chittagong after it failed to land in Dhaka.

An Air Arabiya flight, a domestic flight of Regent Airways also could not land due to low visibility.

The operations were resumed at 10am when the fog disappeared.

Today’s first flight, a US-Bangla air, took off around 10:08am while around 10:15, an Air Arabia flight landed.

Flight operations have been disrupted at Shahjalal International Airport for the past few days due to dense fog.
