1. Singapore favorite opens in PH
Singapore-based Tendon Kohaku has opened its first international branch at Uptown Bonifacio.
Tendon Kohaku’s best-seller is the Shrimp Tendon, a bowl mix of vegetables, chicken, and sticky rice, topped with wild tiger prawn.
The original Tendon Kohaku branch at Eat at Seven at Suntec City is a crowd favorite among Singaporeans and visiting tourists alike, who line up for hours just to have a bite of the juicy tendon.
2. Costa Coffee New Year’s offer
Welcome the year with a bang as Costa Coffee offers its medio size Billionaire’s Hot Chocolate for only P100 from December 31, 2017 until January 1, 2018.
The Billonaire’s Hot Chocolate is Costa Coffee’s signature hot chocolate that’s layered with caramel sauce, topped with whipped cream, then drizzled with biscuit crumbs.

3. New combos at Denny’s
Denny’s launches a slew of new dishes that feature the winning flavors of classic American fare.
Nothing can get more classic than a Fried Chicken & Waffle (P325) combo of chicken fingers and skin served with its signature Denny’s waffle. You can also enjoy the waffle with the Salisbury (P355) — beef burger patty smothered with brown gravy, topped with sunny side up egg – or with the Ham and Cheese Omelette (P355).
The Crispy Chicken Sandwich (P295, in photo) has chicken skin and breast fillet fried to golden brown, then layered with fresh lettuce, tomato and mayo, and served with fries; while the Cheesy Penne (255) features pasta covered in 4 kinds of cheese and served with garlic toast.
For something sweet, Denny’s whips up Churros Waffle (P195), Hazelnut Brownie Milkshake (P225) and Chocolate Chip Mocha Milkshake (P225).
4. What’s new at Village Tavern
Christmas is a good time to check out these two new dishes at Village Tavern.
The Tavern Fried Chicken (P665, in photo) consists of six pieces of crispy fried chicken paired with roasted potatoes, steamed rice and homemade gravy. Meanwhile, the Chipotle Chops and Fried Chicken Platter (P1,195) with two pieces grilled chipotle pork chops, six pieces of crispy tavern fried chicken, and onion rings topped with chipotle sauce and steamed rice and pico de gallo.
5. Watami’s aburi selection
Watami is pleased to introduce its new aburi selection.
Aburi, which means “flame grilled,” has a flavorful crust with a juicy center, which is exactly what you get with the Tuna Abura Maki — six pieces of torched tuna with tempura flakes, topped with bonito flakes, spring onions and sriracha mayo.
There is also the Salmon Aburi Maki, six pieces of torched salmon with wasabi mayo, crispy salmon skin, cream cheese, asparagus, and sriracha mayo topped with tempura flakes, spring onions and togarashi; and Shrimp Aburi, six pieces of torched shrimp with yellow radish, cucumber, and carrots topped with sriracha mayo, black sesame seeds, spring onions and tobiko.
6. Luis Manzano appears in culinary web series
Not too many may be aware of it but Luis Manzano actually holds a degree in hotel and restaurant management from De La Salle University-College of St. Benilde. So, when an opportunity to guest in chef Ernest “Erns” Gala for GalaStars Culinary’s Celebrity Series came along, he did not hesitate.
GalaStars’ Celebrity Series are special webisodes produced by Chef Erns in which popular personalities are seen learning or sharing their favorite recipes online.
Under the guidance of Chef Erns and his kitchen crew, Manzano was able to whip up a crown roast and chocolate chip oatmeal cookies.

7. Maintain your glow with Vitamin C
The reputation of Vitamin C as immunity booster and beating colds and flu is well documented. But did you known it is also an antioxidant that can address not just diseases but ageing?
