Government signs resolution canceling new rule of registration within 5 days for foreigners from 92 countries According to the new rules introduced starting from November 4, 2016, foreign citizens travelling Kyrgyzstan are required to pass registration within 5 days of their stay in the country, or otherwise face 10,000-som fine.
AKIPRESS.COM – Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov signed a government resolution “on issues of registration of foreigners and stateless person in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic” on December 19, the press service of the Government reported.
The resolution approves a list of 92 countries the citizens of which are exempt from registration in Kyrgyzstan within 5 days of their stay.
According to the new rules introduced starting from November 4, 2016, foreign citizens travelling Kyrgyzstan are required to pass registration within 5 days of their stay in the country, or otherwise face 10,000-som fine.
The list of countries exempt from new rule includes: Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Albania, Andorra, Argentina, Armenia, Bahamas, Barbados, Bahrain, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Brunei, Vatican, United Kingdom, Hungary, Venezuela, Vietnam, Germany, Greece, Georgia, Denmark, Dominica, Israel, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Iceland, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, Canada, Qatar, Cyprus (Western), the Republic of Korea, Costa Rica, Cuba, Kuwait, Laos, Latvia, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malaysia, Maldives, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Mongolia, Netherlands,Nicaragua, New Zealand, Norway, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Romania, Salvador, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, USA, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Ukraine, Philippines, Finland, French Republic, Croatia, Montenegro, Czech Republic, Chile, the Swiss Confederation, Kingdom of Sweden, Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Ecuador, Estonia, South Africa and Japan.
The citizens of these states are still required to go through registration while in Kyrgyzstan and each state has different non-registration stay period, averaging around 30 working days.
