Lady Tams seek to get back on the winning track

Far Eastern University returns to action after a long layoff against Jose Rizal University but will be playing without national beach volleyball team member Bernadeth Pons (No. 2).

Far Eastern University seeks to return in the win column and boost its semifinals seat bid sans top hitter Bernadeth Pons against the listless Jose Rizal University in Group A of the of the inaugural Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference on Wednesday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Game time is at 4:00 p.m. and will air via livestream.

The Lady Tamaraws saw its two-game winning run snapped by National University, 25-22, 26-28, 27-29, 22-25, last Sept. 16.

FEU is at solo third spot with a 2-1 win-loss record behind unbeaten Lady Bulldogs (4-0) and Ateneo de Manila University (3-1).

The Lady Tams will march into battle without ace scorer Bernadeth Pons, who is in Singapore playing alongside University of Sto. Tomas standout Sisi Rondina for the country’s participation in the Southeast Asian Beach Volleyball Championships in Singapore.

Even with Pons out for a tour of duty, FEU still has enough firepower with Toni Basas, Celine Domingo, Jeanette Villareal and Jerrili Malabanan taking the helm.

The Lady Bombers are winless in four outings and are coming off a 11-25, 15-25, 13-25, whipping at the hands of NU last Monday.
