Man Arrested For Causing Grievous Hurt By Dangerous Weapon
The Police have arrested a 50-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapon.
On 30 June 2019 at about 9.50 pm, the Police were alerted to a case of assault against a 53-year-old man along Bukit Batok Street 31. His right middle fingertip was cut off by the suspect. The victim was conveyed conscious to the hospital.
Through investigations and the aid of police cameras, officers from Jurong Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 2 July 2019.
The man will be charged in court on 4 July 2019 with voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapon under Section 326 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which is punishable with imprisonment for life, or for a term which may extend to 15 years and shall also be punished with fine or caning.
