Man Arrested For Criminal Breach Of Trust As Agent
The Police have arrested a 27-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of criminal breach of trust as agent.
On 6 December 2018, the Police received a report that one of the staff from a company had purportedly misappropriated monies belonging to the company.
Through investigations, officers from Central Police Division arrested the man on 14 August 2019. Preliminary investigations revealed that the man was employed as financial advisor and had collected the payment from the client directly and used the money for his personal expenses.
The man will be charged in court on 21 August 2019 with criminal breach of trust as an agent under Section 409 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 which is punishable with an imprisonment term which may extend to 20 years, and shall also be liable to a fine.
