Man Arrested For Voluntarily Causing Grievous Hurt By Dangerous Weapon
The Police have arrested a 21-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapon.
On 3 October 2019 at about 4.15pm, the Police received a report that a 31-year-old male victim had been slashed on his face by another man using a knife at 1 Tras Link, and the assailant subsequently fled the scene. The victim was conscious when conveyed to Singapore General Hospital.
Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from CCTV footages, officers from Central Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him along Orchard Road on 8 October 2019.
The man will be charged in court on 9 October 2019 for voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapon under Section 326 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, the man may be punished with an imprisonment term up to 15 years, and shall be liable to fine or to caning.
