Effective from today, Matthieu Branders will take the position of deputy spokesperson at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation. He replaces Michael Mareel and José de Pierpont, who are moving to positions in Berlin (Germany) and Vienna (Austria).

Matthieu Branders was until now seconded to the Office of the Secretary-General. He was previously posted to Singapore and Tokyo (Japan). A lawyer by education, he also worked a number of years abroad as a legal advisor.
