SINGAPORE, Singapore, November 2, 2015

President Tony Tan Keng Yam and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong have written to President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev respectively to convey their condolences over the crash of Metrojet flight KGL 9268 in central Sinai, Egypt on 31 October 2015.  The text of the letters is appended.

I was saddened to learn of the crash of Metrojet flight KGL9268 in central Sinai, Egypt on 31 October 2015.  On behalf of the people of Singapore, I express our deepest condolences on the tragic loss of lives.

Our thoughts are with the bereaved families and the people of the Russian Federation during this period of grief.

I was deeply saddened to learn of the loss of many lives following the crash of Metrojet flight KGL9268 in central Sinai, Egypt on 31 October 2015.  On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Singapore, I extend our heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the families and friends who have lost their loved ones.
