Property and facility management firm Metro Global are anticipating an imminent move to the Kingdom, focusing on the management of residential, commercial and retail space.

Meeting Post Property at the Oxley-Worldbridge showroom on Tuesday, Serge Makrousov, the company’s director of operations for greater China, said his company was intrigued by the opportunity Cambodia presented in the field of property and facility management.

“Currently there are not too many players in the market, and there is little competition compared to other markets that we are active in, such as Australia. [Cambodia] is a free market space,” Makrousov said.

The director of operations went on to explain that in a world that is becoming increasingly technologically complex, property and facility management has become a lot more complex as well.

For commercial space, the purpose was essentially to “make working businesses more productive”, said Makrousov.

Though a contract has yet to be signed, he said it was highly likely that Metro Global would begin their operations in Cambodia by managing Oxley-Worldbridge’s The Peak and The Bridge mixed-use developments.

A high-ranking representative of Oxley-Worldbridge, who preferred not to be named, and who was also present at the meeting, confirmed this possibility.

Metro Global was founded in 1998 in Australia and has its headquarters in Singapore. Aside from property management, the company offers other services ranging from asset management to hospitality education.
