Held on December 2 and 3, the “Thai Festival By Sansiri at Lan Kwai Fong” wowed over 150,000 visitors at the first-ever international public lifestyle event in Hong Kong organised by Sansiri.
Together with partners BTS Group (a leading provider of passenger services in Thailand), King Power Duty Free (Thailand’s first and largest duty free operator), Lan Kwai Fong Association, Royal Thai Consulate-General in Hong Kong and Tourism Authority of Thailand, Sansiri turned Lan Kwai Fong into a premium Thai extravaganza. The event showcased the ultimate Thai festive spirit and the hippest Thai dining, shopping, entertainment, cultural experience and luxury residential living resonating the Thonglo-Ekamai district in Bangkok over a weekend.
Following in the footsteps of overwhelming successful “Winter Market Fest”, Sansiri’s sensational annual lifestyle event in Thailand held five years in a row, and “The Finest Thai”, the company’s first international public lifestyle festival held at The Royal Thai Embassy in Singapore last September, the first Hong Kong festival was a resounding success.
Sawasdee from the Land of Smiles
The exceptional Thai welcome started the moment visitors walked up Lan Kwai Fong and were greeted by Thailand’s beloved “Giants of Fortune” – four-metre-tall balloon statues seen in Hong Kong for the first time – bestowing blessings to all. Colourful Thai traditional kites fluttered in the sky, setting the scene for a uniquely Thai cultural immersion.
From exotic cuisine to dynamic shopping and entertainment
Thailand has beguiled Hong Kongers for ages with its exotic cuisine, diverse shopping and vibrant nightlife.
Visitors savoured delectable dishes such as green chicken curry and mango sticky rice at the pop-up floating market and took part in a Singha beer drinking competition. They picked up favourite souvenirs at the awesome concept store “CHOK-DEE” and shopped for gifts at King Power’s MOMENT, a new brand of Thai souvenirs designed to showcase Thai culture, arts and crafts. They also checked out Thailand’s leading natural spa products brand HARNN’s first pop-up shop. For a memento of the festival, visitors had their photos printed out with a majestic fountain as a backdrop at King Power’s fun photo booth.
Since no festival would be complete without entertainment, visitors were mesmerised by Lao Kra Top Mai, the traditional bamboo dance, Serng, the Northeast Thai folk dancing and Muay Thai, Thai kickboxing.
Bangkok’s most vibrant locale
Renowned for its classy bars and boutiques, fashionable clubs and restaurants, as well as contemporary and luxurious residences, the Thonglo-Ekamai district in Bangkok is the domain of hip and affluent Bangkokians. Visitors to the Festival got a glimpse of the round-the-clock lifestyle experience of the prime residential locale at an experiential space presented by Sansiri.
