Scoot to fly Singapore-Berlin direct starting June

Singapore Airlines’ low-cost, long-haul carrier Scoot will launch direct flights from Singapore to Berlin, Germany, starting June 20.

The flight will be available every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, departing from Singapore at 12:20 a.m. and arriving in Berlin at 7:25 a.m. Flights from Berlin to Singapore will also be operated on the same days, leaving Germany at 9:25 a.m. and landing in Singapore at 3:35 p.m.

The new route will operate the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which features inflight W-Fi, in-seat USB ports and ScooTV entertainment.

Passengers seeking more comfort can consider booking ScootBiz seats with 38 inches of space between seats, a 30-kilogram baggage allowance and food and beverages, or ScootinSilence that offers 31-35 inches of space between seats.

The airline is offering promotional fares for the new route. Bookings will open ton Jan. 31 for trips between June 20 and Oct. 26, with Economy FLY class seats (excluding baggage and food) starting at Rp 3.6 million (US$270) for the Jakarta-Berlin route, Rp 3.75 million for the Surabaya-Berlin route and Rp 3.9 million for the Denpasar-Berlin route.

The long-haul carrier currently flies to four destinations in Indonesia from Singapore: Jakarta, Surabaya, Denpasar and Palembang. (kes)
