SEA GAMES: SINGAPORE WINS 1ST GOLD IN SWIMMING
SINGAPORE– Singapore synchronised swimmer Debbie Soh won the republic’s first gold Friday after scoring a total of 75.0000 points in the solo free routine competition at the National Aquatic Centres in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.
The Singapore contingent also won a silver and two bronze in synchronised swimming.
Meanwhile Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong wishes all the republic’s athletes every success at the 29th SEA Games which will be held in Kuala Lumpur from Aug 19 till Aug 30, 2017.
Singapore is sending its largest ever away contingent to the SEA Games with 569 athletes who will be competing in 35 sports.
The previous largest Singapore contingent for an away SEA Games was 442 in 1997 in Jakarta.
