Canadian singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes is set to perform at the first reboot episode of MTV renowned series, “Unplugged’. Dubbed as “MTV Unplugged Shawn Mendes”, the show will be broadcasted on the beginning of fall, Sept. 8.

According to Variety, since it first aired in 1989 and cancelled in 2009, “MTV Unplugged” has featured celebrated musicians who perform acoustic versions of their music such as Nirvana and Adele.

Shawn Mendes is excited about the show, “I feel like if I can do this right, then it will be a moment for me – where people can really understand and see me as a musician and a singer, and where I’m coming from,” he said.
