SINGAPORE DECRIES ONSLAUGHT ON SAUDI ARABIA
SINGAPORE, Singapore decries the missile attack by Yemen on Saudi Arabia, targeting residential areas of Riyadh and other cities on Sunday, that left one person dead and two injured.
In a statement on Monday, the republic’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said, There can be no justification for the deliberate targeting of innocent civilians. We extend our sympathies to the victims and their families.
We urge all parties to take steps to exercise restraint and cease hostilities, ensure the safety of all civilians, and work towards a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Yemen.
MFA and the Singapore Embassy in Riyadh are in contact with Saudi Arabian authorities and monitoring the situation closely.
Seven ballistic missiles were reported to have been fired from Yemen and all were intercepted except for the one that hit the residential area.
