Singapore President pays state visit to Egypt
SINGAPORE, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) — Singaporean President Tony Tan Keng Yam will make a state visit to Egypt from Sunday to Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
The visit commemorates the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
A Memorandum of Understanding on technical cooperation encompassing several areas such as public administration, port management, water resources management and education will be signed during the state visit, said the ministry.
A business delegation led by Singapore Business Federation will also visit Egypt in conjunction with President Tan’s visit.
This trip marks President Tan’s first state visit to the Middle East. President al-Sisi visited Singapore last year, also the first such visit by an Egyptian President.
