Sisi Visits Port of Singapore (allAfrica.com)
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi visited the Port of Singapore Tuesday at the end of his stay in the Asian country.
The chairman of the port received Sisi and congratulated him on the inauguration of the New Suez Canal, presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said.
Sisi voiced appreciation and admiration of Singapore’s experiment in achieving economic and human development, Youssef said.
He made it clear that Cairo is keen on implementing projects in a record time, the spokesman added.
The president also talked about the Suez Canal development project and another to establish an industrial zone at each of the six ports in the Canal region, Youssef further said.
The chairman of the Port of Singapore posted Sisi on Singapore’s experiment in building and managing harbors.
Singapore is acting to upgrade ports in 16 countries, he told Sisi.
Up to 20 percent of the world’s shipping containers transit the Port of Singapore, the chairman said.
He added that his country is interested in progress achieved in Egypt at the economic level.
