THE Vodafone Fiji 7s team will regather for training next week in preparation for the final leg of the HSBC Sevens World Series.
The Paris 7s will be played from May 13-14 followed by the London 7s from May 20-21.
The national side arrived from Singapore on Tuesday morning to a low key welcome. Only a few family members and friends greeted them.
Fiji won the Hong Kong 7s title, but crashed out in the quarter-finals in Singapore.
National 7s coach Gareth Baber did not travel with the team.
Fiji 7s team manager Jone Niurua said Baber had returned to his home in Hong Kong.
He said a lot of preparation was needed for the upcoming tournaments.
“We have a lot of preparations to do for the final leg and the boys know that,” Niurua said.
“You can’t underestimate any team now and this was evident at Singapore. All the teams are well prepared.
“An unpredictable team Canada won the Singapore 7s title. It just shows how hard the series is now.
“The boys are on a break for the rest of the week. They start preparations next week. We have a pool of 25 players in the training squad the coach will pick the final squad from that.”
Baber arrives in the country on Saturday.
