Travel Notice: Situation in Mandalay, Myanmar [Updated: 30 July 2014]

On 3 July 2014, the Myanmar authorities imposed a 9pm-5am curfew in Mandalay after riots broke out in Mandalay.  As of 28 July, the curfew hours have been reduced to 10pm-3am. Singaporeans who are travelling to Mandalay are advised to exercise a high degree of caution, take all necessary precautions for personal safety as well as monitor local news and developments closely, and heed the instructions of local authorities. Singaporeans travelling to Myanmar are encouraged to eRegister with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at as well as purchase comprehensive travel and medical insurance.  Singaporeans that require consular assistance while in Myanmar may contact our Embassy in Yangon or the 24 hr MFA Duty Office at:
