Twenty Arrested In Enforcement Operation Against Massage Establishments And Public Entertainment Outlets
The Police have arrested 19 women and one man, aged between 19 and 37, during a three-day enforcement operation against massage establishments and public entertainment outlets along Upper Cross Street, Jalan Besar, Jalan Klapa, Mayo Street, Dunlop Street, South Bridge Road and Duxton Hill from 8 to 10 January 2019.
During the operation conducted by Central Police Division, eight unlicensed massage establishments were detected. Seven women, aged between 21 and 35, were arrested for offences under the Women’s Charter.
Two public entertainment outlets were also found to have contravened licensing conditions. Eleven women and one man, aged between 19 and 37, were arrested for offences under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act.
Investigations are ongoing.
Actions will be taken against the operators for flouting the rules and regulations under the Public Entertainment Act and Massage Establishment Act 2017. The Police takes a serious view of anyone involved in criminal activities and will continue to take tough enforcement action against those found breaking the law.
