Uber of delivery offers relief for small businesses
MANILA – Small businesses can cut costs by tapping app-based delivery services instead of buying their own vehicles, one of the service providers said Wednesday.
Mober, which allows user to hail delivery vans and trucks with their smartphones, has 10,000 daily transactions with 2,500 partner-drivers, said co-founder Jade Hugo.
Hugo said Mober drivers rely on navigation apps to help them meet delivery schedules despite traffic jams in the capital, Hugo told ANC’s Early Edition.
“Mober is the cost-efficient delivery service for SMEs where they can book deliveries for the same day using our delivery vans, it lessens the cost for buying your own delivery vans,” Hugo said.
Mober promises one-hour delivery within a 5-kilometer radius. Its clients include appliance and food stores, Hugo said.
Hugo said the company was eyeing Singapore, Hong Kong and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates for expansion.
