Car buyers eye cheaper COEs
Car buyers will find out if certificate of entitlement (COE) premiums will continue to fall when the latest tender closes today.
In the previous tender last month, COE premiums for smaller cars of up to 1,600cc and 130bhp fell to the lowest level in more than three years. Premiums for larger cars and Open category COEs tumbled as well . Observers reckon the increased COE supply will see prices dip further in the coming months.
Investigators examine plane part
Aviation experts at a defence ministry facility in Toulouse, France, will begin examining a piece of aeroplane debris found on La Reunion Island to determine whether it comes from Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370.
If the serial number on the flaperon confirms that it is from the ill-fated passenger jet, which disappeared in March last year, the laboratory will use sophisticated tools to glean more information about the cause of the crash.
