Manikganj: A total of 27 candidates submitted nomination papers today in three parliamentary constituencies of Manikganj to contest the upcoming 13th national parliamentary election slated for February 12, 2026. Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner Nazmun Ara Sultana, along with District Election Officer Md. Nazim Uddin, confirmed the information.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Returning Officer's office reported that nine candidates submitted nomination papers for Manikganj-1 constituency, which comprises the Ghior, Daulatpur, and Shibalaya upazilas.
In the Manikganj-2 constituency, covering Singair, Harirampur upazilas and part of Manikganj Sadar, six candidates submitted their nomination papers.
For the Manikganj-3 constituency, which includes Manikganj Sadar and Saturia upazilas, a total of 12 candidates filed nomination papers.
The submission of nomination papers marks a significant step towards the upcoming national parliamentary election, as candidates prepare to contest for influence and representation in the region.
