Dhaka: A three-day "Digital Device and Innovation Expo 2026" has commenced at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center (BCFCC) in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar. The event, running from January 29 to 31, aims to spotlight technological innovation, capabilities, success, and investment in the technology sector. It has been organized by the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Department, Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority, and Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS) under the theme "Bangladesh to the World".
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division Secretary Shish Haider Chowdhury revealed details about the event at a press conference held at the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) auditorium in Agargaon. The Expo serves as a significant platform for displaying cutting-edge technologies and innovative ideas from a range of industries and universities.
The Expo showcases ICT products and services, innovative student projects, seminars, and conferences focusing on ICT fundamentals, communication systems, digital devices, and programming. It draws a diverse group of attendees, including government officials, industry leaders, academics, and startups.
The ICT Secretary highlighted that the interest in digital devices among the country's population is on par with that of the developed world. He remarked, "This is positive for moving forward in technology... Digital transformation or transformation of any country is an ongoing process."
Faiz Ahmed Tayyab, special assistant to the Chief Adviser in charge of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, is spearheading the digital transformation efforts through various initiatives.
At the press conference, BCS Secretary General Muhammad Monirul Islam detailed the exhibitions. Over a hundred domestic and international IT institutions, organizations, various ministries, divisions and directorates, local digital product manufacturers and service providers, innovative exhibitors, internationally renowned brands, computer gaming development institutions, hardware sector service providers, OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), and software service providers will participate in the event.
