Phnom Penh: H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce and Chairperson of the Cambodian Halal Steering Committee, led a meeting on March 18 to evaluate the draft Halal Development Strategic Plan for 2025-2029.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the session was attended by H.E. Datuk Othsman Hassan, Senior Minister in Charge of Special Missions, along with other dignitaries, vice-presidents, and representatives from pertinent ministries and institutions. The meeting’s objective was to examine, deliberate, and gather feedback on the draft framework of the Halal Development Strategic Plan 2025-2029 and to review the certification process involved.
During the meeting, H.E. Minister Nimul directed the Secretariat of the Steering Committee to advance the preliminary draft of the Halal Development Strategic Plan 2025-2029. The Secretariat was also tasked with revising the draft Prakas concerning the Application for the Certificate of Cambodia Halal Product Technical Standard and the draft Standard Operating Procedure for the Certification Process, ensuring alignment with international standards.
