Cambodian National Assembly President Mourns Passing of Former Vietnamese President


Phnom Penh: President of the National Assembly (NA) of Cambodia, Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, has expressed her condolences to H.E. Tr?n Thanh M?n, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, following the death of former President Tran Duc Luong.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Samdech Khuon Sudary conveyed her sorrow in a message released to the public this morning, stating, “I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of the Honorable Tran Duc Luong, former President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, on May 20th, 2025.”



She highlighted the legacy left by Tran Duc Luong, emphasizing his commitment to the independence, progress, and well-being of the Vietnamese people. Samdech Khuon Sudary also noted the former President’s role as a significant friend to Cambodia and a key figure in strengthening the bilateral ties of friendship and solidarity between Cambodia and Viet Nam.



Concluding her message, she extended her heartfelt condolences on behalf of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia to the Communist Party of Viet Nam, the National Assembly, the State, the people of Viet Nam, and particularly to Tran Duc Luong’s family, wishing for his soul to rest in eternal peace.
