New york: H.E. PRAK Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia, will lead a high-level delegation to attend the General Debate of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), which will be held from Sept. 23 to 27 and on Sept. 29, 2025, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, this year’s session will be convened under the theme: “Better together: 80 years and more for peace, development and human rights,” as stated in a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation issued this morning.
During the General Debate, H.E. Deputy Prime Minister will deliver Cambodia’s national statement, outlining the Kingdom’s enduring commitment to peace, sustainable development, multilateral cooperation, the promotion and protection of human dignity, cybersecurity, and climate resilience.
On the sidelines of the high-level week, H.E. Deputy Prime Minis
ter is scheduled to engage in bilateral meetings with the United Nations Secretary-General, several counterparts, and senior officials from international organisations. These meetings aim to deepen diplomatic ties, enhance bilateral and multilateral partnerships, and reinforce Cambodia’s contributions to global peace and prosperity.
As the United Nations marks its 80th Anniversary, Cambodia stands in solidarity with the global community in renewing its unwavering development, and the safeguarding of human rights.
