Jahangirnagar: Jahangirnagar University (JU) today held the 'A' Unit admission test for the 2025-2026 academic session, marking the completion of the written admission test phase for first-year undergraduate (honours) programmes. The 'A' Unit admission test was conducted for the Faculty of Mathematical and Physical Sciences and the Institute of Information Technology (IIT).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, JU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan visited the examination centres at the Physics Building and the Chemistry Building in the morning. After the visit, the Vice-Chancellor expressed gratitude towards teachers, students, officers, employees, and all involved for successfully conducting the admission tests in a smooth and orderly manner. He remarked that the collective efforts of all stakeholders enhanced the university's reputation and image.
During the visit, several key figures accompanied the Vice-Chancellor, including Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Dr M Mahfuzur Rahman, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr Sohel Ahmed, Treasurer Professor Dr M Abdur Rab, and Proctor Professor Dr A K M Rashidul Alam.
University sources indicate that for the 'A' Unit, there are 213 seats each for male and female students, with 38,012 male and 22,340 female applicants vying for these spots. Meanwhile, the university authorities have released the admission test results for the Institute of Business Administration, IBA-JU; 'C' Unit under the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Faculty of Law, and the Institute of Comparative Literature and Culture; 'B' Unit under the Faculty of Social Sciences; 'E' Unit under the Faculty of Business Studies; and 'D' Unit under the Faculty of Biological Sciences.
Additionally, results for the 'C-1' Unit, which includes the Departments of Drama and Dramatics and Fine Arts, have been announced alongside the dates for the viva voce examinations.
