Malaysia Opens Food and Culture Fest 2025 at Phnom Penh’s Walk Street


Phnom Penh: The Embassy of Malaysia in Cambodia officially launched the Malaysia Food and Culture Fest 2025 at Walk Street in front of the Royal Palace, Phnom Penh. The event was inaugurated on the afternoon of June 21 under the presidency of H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism of Cambodia, and H.E. Dato’ Sri Tiong King Sing, Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture of Malaysia.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the opening ceremony was graced by Prince Norodom Chakravuth, ambassadors from several friendly nations, H.E. Imran Hassan, Deputy Governor of Phnom Penh, representatives from Cambodian and Malaysian private sectors, distinguished national and international guests, as well as members of the public visiting Walk Street. Following the official opening, the two ministers toured exhibition booths showcasing Malaysian food and beverages from various regions, along with local Cambodian products. They also enjoyed cultural showcases, including traditional dances and vibrant musical performances by Malaysian artists.



On the occasion, the Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia screened its Muslim-Friendly Tourism Destination Promotional Video, which was warmly received by the audience and drew enthusiastic applause from both dignitaries and the general public. The Ministry also highlighted Chaktomuk Walk Street as a new, clean, green, vibrant, and value-added tourist destination by integrating the cultures, traditions and customs of other countries with Cambodia, underlined the ministry.
