Rissho Koseikai Commended for Contributions to Buddhism and Peacebuilding

Phnom Penh: Cambodian Minister of Cults and Religion commends Japan’s Rissho Kosei-kai Peace Fund for its significant role in fostering Buddhism and promoting peace in Cambodia and beyond.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Chay Borin expressed the appreciation during a meeting with Reverend Megumi Wada, Vice President of the Donate-a-Meal Fund for Peace under the Rissho Kosei-kai Peace Fund, at the ministry in Phnom Penh on June 9.

The Minister noted that the Peace Fund has been instrumental in enhancing mutual understanding and knowledge exchange among Buddhists while playing a vital role in broader peacebuilding efforts.

Reverend Megumi Wada highlighted the organisation’s long-standing collaboration with Cambodia’s Ministry of Cults and Religion, particularly in educational initiatives.

Since 1992, it has supported the publication of books for monasteries and Buddhist schools across Cambodia, strengthening Buddhist teachings in the country.
