Paris: Following the conclusion of her official and friendly visit to Hungary, Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia, led a high-level Cambodian parliamentary delegation to the French Republic to participate in the 8th Edition of the Paris Peace Forum, taking place from Oct. 29 to 30 in Paris.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the delegation arrived safely at Paris International Airport at 16:08 local time (22:05 Phnom Penh time), where they were warmly welcomed by H.E. Mr. Luy David, Ambassador of Cambodia to France, and officials of the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Paris.
The programme outlines that Samdech Khuon Sudary will actively participate in the Forum and deliver three key statements and interventions. These include a statement at the Plenary Session under the theme ‘New Coalitions for Peace, People, and the Planet’, participation in a Closed-Door Roundtable Discussion on ‘Facing the Fault Lines: Sovereignty in a Fragmenting World Order’, and engagement in a Panel Discussion on ‘Fault Lines and Frontlines: Asia’s Shifting Geopolitics.’
In addition to her participation in the Forum, Samdech Khuon Sudary is expected to hold bilateral meetings with parliamentary leaders and development partners. Among these meetings is one with Hon. Ya«l Braun-Pivet, President of the National Assembly of the French Republic, aimed at further enhancing inter-parliamentary relations and strengthening multilateral collaboration.
As part of Cambodia’s engagement, Hon. Lork Kheng, Chairwoman of the Commission on Public Health, Social Affairs, Veteran, Youth Rehabilitation, Labour, Vocational Training, and Women’s Affairs of the National Assembly, will also serve as a distinguished speaker at the session ‘Data, Storytelling, and Leadership: Tools for Women’s Empowerment.’ Hon. Lork Kheng will share Cambodia’s national experience and commitment to advancing women’s empowerment, reflecting the country’s strong dedication to global peace, stability, and mutual exchange. She expressed pride in contributing to international efforts that strengthen shared learning, peace, and sustainable development.
This mission underscores Cambodia’s proactive role in parliamentary diplomacy, reaffirming the National Assembly’s steadfast commitment to advancing national interests, strengthening international friendship, and contributing to global peace and sustainable development.
