Senior Minister Ly Thuch Encourages Chinese Investors to Expand Investments, Aligning with PM Hun Manet’s Vision


Shenzhen: Senior Minister H.E. Dr. Ly Thuch has urged Chinese investors to explore new opportunities in Cambodia, reinforcing Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet’s economic development strategy.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Dr. Ly Thuch, who also chairs Cambodia’s National Committee for the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), spoke at the Cambodia-China Investment Outlook Forum and Economic Policy Presentation on Aug. 9. The event, held in Shenzhen, China, was part of the 19th China Brand Festival and attracted leading Chinese investors and business leaders.



He highlighted the strengthening of bilateral cooperation between Cambodia and China since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1958, which has developed into a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. High-level exchanges since 1999 have further solidified these ties, making Cambodia an appealing destination for Chinese investments.



The Senior Minister emphasized Cambodia’s competitive advantages, such as its modern infrastructure comprising roads, railways, ports, airports, and utilities, along with a young, skilled workforce. He noted that the Cambodia-China Free Trade Agreement and investor-friendly policies offer a robust framework for business growth in key sectors.



Under Prime Minister Hun Manet’s leadership, the Royal Government is committed to investor protection, transparency, and sustainable development, ensuring a secure environment for long-term ventures.



H.E. Dr. Ly Thuch invited Chinese enterprises to enhance their engagement, particularly within the Belt and Road Initiative and the Cambodia-China Diamond Cooperation Framework. He also expressed gratitude to investors for their ongoing confidence, job creation, and contributions to Cambodia’s socio-economic progress.
