Singapore: Singapore has stepped up monitoring of air quality after observing a surge in hotspots and smoke activity in part of Indonesia over the weekend. The National Environment Agency (NEA) reported that the hotspots and dense smoke plumes were primarily detected in Kalimantan and southern Sumatra. Additionally, some smoke plumes were observed in Riau, raising the possibility of hazy conditions affecting Singapore in the coming days.
According to Nam News Network, NEA stated that Singapore's 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) ranged from 68 to 90, within the Moderate range, on Monday, with the central region recording a PSI reading of 91 as of 2 pm. "Dry conditions are expected to persist during the week," it added.
