Cox's bazar: Chief Adviser's Special Assistant for the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, today called upon relevant organizations to collaborate for providing uninterrupted and improved telecommunication services. His appeal came during an inspection of the Third Submarine Cable Laying (2nd revised) Project and the related landing station of Bangladesh Submarine Cables PLC (BSCCL), which aims to expand the country's international telecommunications infrastructure.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during his visit, Taiyeb was briefed on the project's progress, technical capabilities, operational management, and future plans. He toured key facilities at the landing station and engaged in discussions with officials and employees involved in the project.
Faiz Ahmed emphasized the critical role of the submarine cable project in bolstering the nation's digital infrastructure. He stated, "Through the implementation of the SMW-6 project, the country's internet bandwidth capacity will increase, alongside enhancing international telecommunications facilities, which will indirectly aid in the socio-economic development of the country and the creation of a prosperous Bangladesh."
The special assistant urged Bangladesh Submarine Cables PLC's officers and employees to maintain professionalism, dedication, and sincerity to ensure consistent and high-quality telecommunication services. The third submarine cable, SMW6, is planned to extend from Cox's Bazar to Singapore and France, enabling connections to renowned data centers in Singapore, India, Djibouti, and France via the core cable.
Following the inspection, Faiz Ahmed participated in a symbolic activity by planting Thai longan saplings on the premises of Bangladesh Submarine Cables PLC. The event was attended by Bangladesh Submarine Cables PLC Managing Director Md. Aslam Hossain and other senior officials.
