Phnom penh: Cambodia exported 387,070 tonnes of milled rice in the first six months of 2025, marking a 14.3 percent increase from 338,654 tonnes in the same period last year, the Cambodia Rice Federation (CRF) announced in a news release on July 3.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the milled rice exports brought in a gross revenue of US$387 million, a significant rise of 56 percent from US$247 million in the first semester of the previous year. During the January-June period this year, fifty companies shipped Cambodian milled rice to 60 countries and regions, with China remaining a major importer.
The distribution of the exported milled rice was predominantly fragrant rice at 75 percent, followed by 19.68 percent white rice, 2.49 percent parboiled rice, 2.13 percent organic rice, and 0.7 percent other types of rice.
Mr. Chan Sokheang, President of CRF, highlighted that the increase in rice exports indicated progress in both existing and new markets. He expressed the organization’s commitment to sust
aining this growth in exports.
Additionally, Cambodia earned approximately US$755 million from border-traded paddy rice, amounting to some 3.17 million tonnes during the first half of the year. In 2024, the Kingdom exported over 651,522 tonnes of milled rice, valued at US$491 million.
