Fakhrul Submits Nomination Papers for Thakurgaon-1 Constituency

Thakurgaon: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today submitted his nomination papers for the Thakurgaon-1 constituency. He traveled from the district BNP office to the DC office by rickshaw to submit his nomination papers to the District Returning Officer.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, before filing his nomination, Mirza Fakhrul addressed a brief meeting at the district BNP office. He emphasized the desire to live peacefully with people of all religions, noting that some are attempting to create division and confusion. He insisted that they have never engaged in such division in the past and will not do so in the future.

Mirza Fakhrul expressed concern over the politics of division practiced over the past 15 years, which he believes have attempted to split society. He stated that efforts are now focused on building a society characterized by communal harmony. He also highlighted the loss of many lives during last year's 24-day movement, underscoring the party's aim to form a democratic state free from corruption.

He stressed the importance of demonstrating respect for all religions, advocating for a truly liberal democratic country where men and women enjoy equal status. He called upon people from all faiths, including Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist, and Christian communities, to unite in creating a harmonious environment in the country.

District BNP President Mirza Faisal Amin, General Secretary Poygam Ali, and other officials were present during the occasion.
