Luxury Cruise Brings Over 800 Tourists to Sihanoukville for Two-Day Visit


Sihanoukville: Preah Sihanouk province welcomed a significant influx of international tourists today as the Viking ORION cruise ship carrying more than 800 passengers representing 15 nationalities docked at Sihanoukville Autonomous Port. The visit, the second of its kind for the early dry season, marks a positive sign for the region’s tourism sector.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Norwegian-flagged vessel, operated by Viking Ocean Cruises, arrived at the port at 7:30 a.m., completing its journey from Vietnam. Immigration Police confirmed the ship’s dimensions-228.3 meters long and 28.8 meters wide-and noted the large contingent of visitors. The 814 passengers included a diverse international mix, though the majority hailed from North America: United States: 607 tourists; Canada: 79 tourists; Other Nationalities: 15 in total. The ship also carried 471 crew members representing 41 different nationalities.



The Viking ORION is scheduled to depart Sihanoukville for Thailand at 2:00 p.m. tomorrow, Nov. 2. During their two-day stay, the international visitors are exploring key attractions within Preah Sihanouk province. The visit was met with a warm official reception from the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Administration. Local authorities and law enforcement agencies have implemented full coordination and security protocols to guarantee the safety, comfort, and smooth travel of all cruise guests during their time in the Kingdom.
