Pelicans’ Alvarado and Suns’ Williams Suspended Following On-Court Altercation

New orleans: New Orleans Pelicans guard Jose Alvarado and Phoenix Suns center Mark Williams have been handed suspensions by the NBA following their involvement in an on-court altercation during a game. Alvarado received a two-game suspension, while Williams was suspended for one game.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the incident occurred with 2:06 left in the third quarter during the Suns' 123-114 win over the Pelicans on Saturday. The altercation began when Alvarado committed a defensive foul on Williams, who was setting a pick. In response, Williams shoved Alvarado, leading the Pelicans guard to grab Williams, spin him around, and swing punches. The situation escalated as teammates from both sides intervened to break up the fight.

Both players were issued technical fouls and subsequently ejected from the game. Alvarado will miss the Pelicans' upcoming games on Monday against the New York Knicks and on Wednesday against the Chicago Bulls. Meanwhile, Williams will serve his suspension on Monday when the Suns face the Washington Wizards.

The Pelicans currently hold an 8-25 record, placing them last in the Western Conference, while the Suns are seventh in the West with an 18-13 record.
